This video was posted by Youtube user 11thhouraction. The 11th Hour is a 2007 feature film documentary, created, produced and narrated by Leonardo DiCaprio, on the state of the natural environment. It gives a look at the state of the global environment including visionary and practical solutions for restoring the planet's ecosystems. It was directed by Leila Conners Petersen and Nadia Conners and financed by Adam Lewis and Pierre André Senizergues, and distributed by Warner Independent Pictures.

The purpose of the website, www.11thhouraction.com, is to inspire people to take action. It encourages people to take action at home and in their communities. On this social action website, you will see thousands of examples of what people have chosen to do to make the world a better place. It is believed that when people see what other people are doing, it helps them take action too. If you need inspiration, check and see what people have done by looking on the action map or joining a group that has already started. Together, step by step, action by action, we can create a healthy and just world. (Group, 2010)

So, what you waiting for?

End of the World?

Sunday, January 16, 2011

I'm sure everyone is very familiar with the 2012 end of the world doomsday. So, will our world suddenly goes POOFFF! and gone like the image below?

Tricky! But it may happen. No one knows what the future is like and how serious should we take this. There are a number of predictions or prophecies about the end of the world as we know it. Some say that on an ancient Mayan calendar, 2012 points to the end of the world. They've chosen December 21 2012 as the exact day because that's when the calender ends. There are others speak of a Nostradamus 2012 doomsday prediction as well.

Should you be freaked out by this prediction? I don't think so. However, just because the earth has survived various doomsday predictions, it does not guarantee it will still be here in the year 2012, or tomorrow for that matter? Any known threat should be taken seriously. We are a vulnerable planet.

You’ve probably noticed that green is everywhere these days--in the news, politics, fashion, and even technology. You can hardly escape it on the Internet. I learnt in Waste Management that we humans and the things around us have a special bond with each other. That is what people called "interrelationship". Everything single thing we do every day has an impact on the planet whether it is a good one or bad one. The good news is that as an individual, we have the power to control most of our choices and, therefore, the impact you create: from where you live to what you buy, eat, and use to light your home to where and how you vacation, to how you shop or vote, you can have global impact. Protecting biodiversity and rainforests are excellent carbon sinks.

The future lies in our hands. We should do something!

What I do when I have nothing much better to do? Editing pics!!!

The picture above were edited using my iPod apps (Photo Mess and PS Express). Apple products are awesome! I think it is very important to own an Apple product if you're a gadgets maniac and if you can afford one.

No regrets work my fingers to the bone to buy myself an iPod Touch 4G.
